I overheard that there are a number of white folks, especially white males who are feeling “dispossessed”. This sentiment is not something that I feel should be laughed at, scorned, or mocked. It just needs to be placed in it’s proper context.
You see, American Capital is like the only father that America has known. People who are willing to see him as a human being and not as just ‘daddy’, know that he is wild, impulsive, yet successful; merciless, soulless, yet powerful. American Capital really took off when it saw a beautiful black babe that it wanted BADLY. He knew that with the right skill and tactics, he could make her his slave and breed with her until total exhaustion. So, he took her and raped her, and bred a whole new ‘race’ of people called African-Americans, all this while counting millions after millions of dollars. Although his mark upon the race was obvious, he would never humble himself to claim them or acknowledge them, since ultimately that meant REPARATIONS.
Given his success, coupled with turmoil across the globe, American Capital became wildly popular and started attracting lots of attention which lead to more economic opportunities. The process of industrialization began and this new thing called the ‘corporation’ formed. American Capital LOVED the corporation, so much so, that even though it was bereft of a sense of humanity, ‘Daddy’ made sure that the law recognized it as a person. At this point, American Capitol got richer and richer, and more and more powerful. He felt that he could not lose. His boredom with his own success along with his feelings of being invulnerable lead him to drinking and an increasingly bad gambling problem. This gambling problem got so bad, that it lead to a ‘Great Depression’ and almost ALL of his children suffered because of his massive ego.
At this point, some of his more astute children decided to make an intervention. They took their ‘Dad’ to rehab in an attempt to cure him of his gambling and drinking problem. Realizing how far gone he was, they only sought to contain his bad habits. They loved their Daddy too much to force him to do things that he would find offensive to his ego. After several years, things got better, especially for his white children for whom he looked out for from time to time, but never loved. Love was something American Capital was simply incapable of. His black children were always there to remind him of his most heinous acts, so he hated them, fully knowing that hating him was hating himself, since raping their mother was how he really got his start.
Eventually, with zero help from America’s Daddy, his black kids started to win their civil rights. Given centuries of oppression and pure hatred, his black kids had a long way to go, but they were determined to get their piece of the American dream that their Daddy was making possible for other Americans, the majority of whose roots did not go nearly as deep as theirs when it came to their time in America. Unfortunately, these black kids could not foresee the next scheme on the horizon. As American Capital became richer and more powerful, and as technology became more powerful, America’s Daddy started looking beyond his own backyard and started scanning the globe.
By some sadistic coincidence, it seemed that just as African-Americans were beginning to enjoy the social benefits that come with full participation in the American economy, America’s Daddy began flirting with other nations with a charm so blingy that very few could resist. No longer having to rape so openly, he advised those dying to be Americans, how to rape and pillage in the American way. With a wink, he said all he wanted was a ‘percentage’. American Capital launched a two-way, highly successful campaign; one focused on expanding this new thing called globalization, and the other focused on trying his hardest to distance himself from his responsibility to his American children. Some people who felt their ‘Daddy’ could do no wrong helped him with this plot, while others resisted. The poorest among his children simply gave up the hope that their Daddy would ever care or ever help them out.
Sensing that these campaigns were successful, American Capital became very full of himself. Not only did he start drinking again, and gambling even heavier than before; now he was snorting COCAINE! He had cronies with him that could use language games to hide the fact that he was out of control. Some of the terms used to hide this psychosis were “success”, “speculation”, and “investment”. This partying lifestyle lasted for years, but eventually the numbers began to catch up with him. Pretty soon, it was realized that Daddy’s gambling problem was made worse, by the new sophistication of gambling, and the many games that could be played now. Wall Street became Las Vegas, except instead of spending their own money, they spent the money of all of Daddy’s kids. Daddy was out of control. Daddy gambled so much and snorted SO MUCH COCAINE, that he was essentially broke!!!
Sad, sad, sad!
Now forced to go to rehab. He now had to borrow from his own children. He promised to pay them back in a pitiful display, and given how much his kids loved Daddy, they gave him the money. The thing that people STILL don’t understand about American Capital is the fact that it is soulless, it has no heart. So any love shown to him, is shown in vain. Americans treat him like their Daddy, like he can do no wrong and blame others for the wrong that he causes. His black kids have been in the know for a while now, but some of his white children just don’t seem to understand the writing on the wall. They don’t realize that Daddy doesn’t love them, so they blame the lowering of their standard of living on black kids, Arab kids, all kinds of other kids, or on people who are forced to deal with righting the wrongs of their ‘dear ole Dad’
Who’s Your Daddy? Is it American Capital? Is it God? Hopefully, one day we will all say God because only then will the day come that none of God’s children feel ‘dispossessed’.
For the record, and without getting too political, my attitude towards capitalism is a detached one. I recognize it’s unchallengeable ability to create prosperity, but I also recognize it’s uncanny ability to promote greed and gross economic inequality. I think too many people treat capitalism as if its a God, when in reality it is simply an economic system in which people participate; therefore certain safeguards are necessary to keep a soulless, heartless system in check.
“If long-cherished ideals and time-honored institutions, if certain social assumptions and religious formulae have ceased to promote the welfare of the generality of mankind, if they no longer minister to the needs of a continually evolving humanity, let them be swept away and relegated to the limbo of obsolescent and forgotten doctrines. Why should these, in a world subject to the immutable law of change and decay, be exempt from the deterioration that must needs overtake every human institution? For legal standards, political and economic theories are solely designed to safeguard the interests of humanity as a whole, and not humanity to be crucified for the preservation of the integrity of any particular law or doctrine.”
